Oat Bran Porridge

Porridge

Start your day full of energy !

Porridge:
This recipe combines oat flakes and oat bran. Oat bran is the outer layer of the oat groat and packed with health benefits, such as high in fiber, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, which may aid heart health, blood sugar control, bowel function and weight loss.
Thanks a higher concentration of beta glucan found in oats, and several other foods, it can reduce dramatically, LDL cholesterol levels. The fiber in oat bran fills you up and can keep you feeling fuller longer.

Servings = 1

Prep time = 10 minutes

Porridge Ingredients:

  • 3 tsp of oat flakes
  • 2 tsp of oat bran
  • 1 1/2 tsp of grated coconut
  • 20g of ground flaxseed
  • 15g of chia seeds
  • 10g of ground sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp of maca root
  • 1 tsp of dried açai berry
  • water or  plant-based milk of your choice (hot or cold)

Topping suggestions:

  • 1 small banana sliced
  • 1/2 apple sliced
  • 2 macadamia nuts
  • some sunflower seeds
  • some berries
  • cinnamon powder

Directions:

In a bowl combine all the dry ingredients. Add the water or milk until creamy, and desired consistency. Put the fruits, seeds and nuts, on the topping, and finally throw the cinnamon.
