Description
An optimal mix of marine and vegetable fatty acids
Omega 3 Pro Omega Complete from TISSO combines high-quality marine and vegetable oils, supplying the body with valuable unsaturated fatty acids.
The krill oil from Antarctic krill (Euphausia superba) offers natural fatty acids in the form of particularly easily digestible phospholipids, including the essential Omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA.
Additional phospholipids from a vegetable source regulate the rapeseed lecithin contained therein. Red palm oil, linseed oil, coconut oil and argan oil supply the body with additional vegetable fatty acids.
Pro Omega Complete also contains taurine, L-acetyl carnitine, L-carnitine and allicin from garlic powder.
The formula is completed with 600 I.E. of vitamin D3 per daily dosage.
With its high ratio of Omega 3 to Omega 6 fatty acids, Pro Omega Complete makes a valuable contribution to improving the Omega-3 balance.
The oils contained in this product have not been industrially refined.
The palm oil comes from sustainable, RSPO-certified cultivation.
Fact sheet – Essential fatty acids
The body cannot produce essential fatty acids itself and must absorb them via food.
Dietary fats consist predominantly of so-called triglycerides, which contain three fatty acids.
The three fatty acids can take different forms: saturated, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated.
No natural fat contains only one kind of fatty acid. However, the respective ratios between the different types vary greatly.
Strictly speaking, only two fatty acids are essential for human beings:
- Omega-3 fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid (ALA)
- Omega-6 fatty acid linoleic acid (LA)
Both are polyunsaturated fatty acids.
Using alpha linolenic acid, the body can form all the necessary Omega-3 fatty acids itself.
These are mainly DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid). However, the synthesis rate is so low that DHA and EPA are also regarded as essential.
Among other things, linoleic acid is the basis for the synthesis of the Omega-6 fatty acid arachidonic acid.
The body needs in sufficient, but not excessive amounts in order to be able to trigger necessary inflammatory reactions.
Food sources of Alpha linoleic acid:
Alpha linolenic acid is a vegetable Omega 3 fatty acid, primarily found in nuts and in vegetable oils such as linseed, hemp and walnut oil.
By contrast, the main source of DHA and EPA is fish and seafood, especially fat-rich cold-water fish.
A high concentration of linoleic acid or Omega-6 is to be found, for example, in thistle, sunflower and corn oil as well as in cereals, meat and dairy products.
What does the body need DHA and EPA for?
Omega-3 fatty acids are present in all cell membranes.
DHA and EPA are particularly important for the cardiovascular system, the development of the brain and for vision. DHA is the primary structural fat in the brain and the central nervous system.
EPA is the base material for eicosanoids – hormone-like neurotransmitters that are involved in the regulation of numerous body functions.
Omega-3 and Omega-6
Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids have opposite functions in the body.
The organism requires a proper balance of both. There is often an overabundance of Omega-6 fatty acids in food.
The ideal ratio of Omega-6/3 fatty acids is considered to be between 1:1 and 4:1. However, in most industrialised countries, the actual ratio is between 20:1 and 30:1.
How Omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin D benefit your health
Taking 250 mg of the fatty acid DHA daily helps to ensure the normal functioning of the brain.
The daily consumption of 250 mg of DHA and EPA helps to regulate the heart‘s function.
Vitamin D plays an important role in cell division and supports the immune system.
