Description
What is Colostrum?
The colostrum content in Pro Agalostrum comes from the first 12 hours of milk of German cows.
In all mammals, it is the first milk the mother produces in the first three days after the birth.
Colostrum promotes growth and health in infants and newborn animals, but research shows that taking these supplements may promote immunity, help fight infections, and improve gut health throughout life.
Bovine colostrum typically has a light yellow color and a subtle taste and smell that resembles buttermilk.
Just like the milk it contains:
- proteins
- enzymes
- vitamins
- minerals
- growth factors
- amino acids and antibodies, yet sometimes in higher quantities.
Protein compounds:
Lactoferrin. Lactoferrin is a protein involved in your body’s immune response to infections, including those caused by bacteria and viruses
Growth factors. Growth factors are hormones that stimulate growth. Bovine first milk is especially high in two protein-based hormones, insulin-like growth factors 1 and 2, or IGF-1 and IGF-2.
Antibodies. Antibodies are proteins, also known as immunoglobulins, used by your immune system to fight bacteria and viruses. Bovine first milk is rich in the antibodies IgA, IgG, and IgM.
The first milk of other mammals can also be used by humans.
Vitamin D contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system.
